You guys would know better than I do. Will this mod work like it says? It seems too cheap and too easy to be true.
Here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6763&item=2465243719

Thanks.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is

That seller is so full of it. Looks like a prettier version of the resistor chip mod. Stay away from it.

Maybe I missed it, but where does it say it works on your particular car?

Gotta love that "UP TO (whatever) HP GAIN!" when it doesn't say on what applications. Could be 1, 2 or even zero on yours. Odds are overwhelming the product's developers never ever fired up a contique.

Be a guinea pig if you insist. But if you want to get gains from playing with your electronic tuning controls, contact someone that is EXPERIENCED doing so with our cars. The standard mantra is to do that type of mod last, so your chip can be custom burned to take advantage of all the other mods you're having put on. An exception to that rule might be made for people that want to change behavior of their automatic trans.

Study this topic via searches on chips. Then if you're interested, maybe try a PM or two to those who the posts note as knowledgable (like keyser, perhaps).

But there is NOT a 10% HP gain mod for these cars that costs under $200.

"The Z1 module isnt in stores yet!"

hmm wonder why. and if it really did net 12% hp and torque increase and could garantee that, then they wouldnt be selling it for a mere $25. no single bolt on mod for the contour will give up a 12% increase in power. That auction is a scam.

I just bought the "Intimidator II" which also "isn't in stores yet" from E-bay. So you guys don't think it will work? It's supposed to replace the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor and I was going to post a question as to where it is on the Contour.

The little box says it's for a Ford, and when I ordered it from them they asked for the year, engine info, etc., so as to send the correct sensor.

I thought it sounded too good to be true, like the Tornado thingy that's supposed to INCREASE airflow when putting something in there would, in itself, decrease airflow because it would be blocking the way!

Well, Stypula, if you install yours and find it increases performance, let me know, then I'll take the 20 minutes it says it takes to install. If not, what's $25? A lesson learned.

its located near the stock air box...basically, its just going to replace the IAT sensor, and tell it its colder outside than it really is, and dump more fuel. waste of money.

I doubt they work well, but they don't cost too much money so it may be worth a shot for some of you. Let us know what you discover if you get one.
