Photoshop or Microsoft or another??? What are the good and bad of each? Looking to buy some softwear but I am a total newbie to this.I want to be able to color correct, crop, do some special stuff but need it to be user friendly . Any suggestions?

Adobe PhotoShop 7.0 with Imageready.... how much did I pay for mine.. nothin' I'm a scandalist... I downloaded it off of Kazaa.

It's a joke my friend... thought I'd toss a little internet piracy fun into this. We all know these things are probably widely available through the "digital five finger discount," but I'm not quite like that. Purchased from Best Buy...the day it came out 799.99 after 40 dollar rebate. 
Now its about 300.00 bucks and just came out, what 6 months ago.

I found Photoshop 2.0 and CS as a package for 129.99 and Microsoft for the same price. I was wondering which is better and more user friendly.

I use the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). Its free.
