Anyone have any advice? I'm glassing over this summer when I take the antenna off and start building the body kit. Just wondering if there are any problems associated with shaving the rear door handles.
I'll take any advice that anyone has from fiberglassing.
...here come the tempro forum links...

Fiberglassing is the only way to do it. Make sure you make it nice and clean. I shaved all the doors, antenna and trunk lock. Yeah it looks high. Ordered Ground Controls and Koni's last week.

Love the car, have for a while... but question. Do you have the remote lock pop? I have manual locks right now and until I find my 3L donor, I will. How the hizzle do you get in if you don't have power to the fronts?

I got a popper remote. The battery was dead one time so I took off the front grill and managed to open the hood and get the battery charged. Then another time my girlfriend locked both the poppers in my car so we used one of them clothesline looking things and got it under the window and manged to get it to the inside door handle to open it. Pain in the ass and scratched my tint up.

It doesn't really matter if you have manual locks because once you shave the handles, there is nothing to lock.

So, until I change over to power locks, just shave the rear. Then again, I could do what a lot of s-10 owners do and shave the handles, but keep the lock cylinder on the driver's side, but why do the extra work when I can just get the remote popper and convert to power.

Fiberglass is not the only way to it. A piece of sheet steel can be cut to size and fitted, then welded and filled. Easier than fiberglass IMO.

Actually thats what I did sort of. I put a piece of steel in there but then put a really thin coat of fiberglass over it to keep it nice and straight.

or you can weld a piece of steel on there and grind down the welds until everything is flush. then put a thin layer of bodyfiller over it. I think thats how its supposed to be done.

Read the above post. That is exact on how I did it. I just was quick with an answer before and said fiberglass.
