I've got 1 10" in my 89 omni and it sounds great. It is a JL10w1, which is still the best sounding JL sub IMO. It was close to being perfect. I have the W6s currently and they are nice, but I'd take the W1s over them for SQ.

If you have too much bass, why not tune it down for lower output.

I use 2 15" subs in a SQ vehicle b/c physics says it can produce low frequenies easier.

For an SQ vehicle 1 10" would do for loudness in 35 Hz to 110 Hz range. But to produce 40 to 18 Hz with low gains use 15" 's.

There is only one 12" I know for producing low sub frequencies, IDQ v2 by Image Dynamics.

Anthony,

I agree with most of your points except for one. Just about any decent quality 12" and quite a few 10s will allow you to reach sub 30 hz bass. The vehicles transfer function allows that.

But, If I were competing in SQ competitions, I would use a single high quality 15" sub.

Roland, check Future Shop. They have the Infinity Perfects at 449.99. They're 12's. Hope this helps.

Yo, Roland...
You are in Canada?
I live in Montreal, and bought my Boston Pro Sub at a local stereo shop, so they are available in Canada. I have even met with the Boston rep a couple times and they are distrbuted nation wide. You just have to look around. If you have no luck, maybe I can hook you up...

I personally like JL, PPI flat piston, Kicker. If you really wanted something for more bang for your buck try MTX's Thunder8000. They kick pretty damn good. If you are wanting the best then you need to buy the Cerwin Vega Stroker or the Orion STroker Killer. I think you can't get much better.
