Ok...I used search and didnt find exactly what I was looking for. I have a humming noise coming from the front end and it does it when driving straight. And it gets louder as I go faster. I did drive on a flat tire a week ago today (not far but too far didnt realize it was flat). Could it just be the wheels are out of balance from driving on the flat? Thanks in advance.

Not 100% sure, but check the wheel bearing. They will hum when they are going bad.

The tire sidewall might be damaged. Have it checked. That means pulling the wheel off to check the inner side too.

Most likely a wheel bearing. Just had the same happen in my car. If the hub doesn't need replacing, it's ~185. Bearing was 58, labor 125. If the hub needed replacing don't want to know.
Get it checked as soon as you can. I would guess when the bearing starts to turn in the hub is when you need the hub replaced.

You can usually tell which side from the noise reducing in a turn to the right or left. High speed ramps from highway to highway are a good way to check that.

Good luck

Simple diagnostic:

Rotate your tires front to rear.

If the noise moves to the rear, it's a tire.

If it stays in the front AND the pitch of the noise is directly proportional to you ground speed, it is a wheel bearing.

If it is proportionate to the engine RPM, then it is most likely an engine accessory or the engine and should be audible when the car is not in motion.

Thanks for all the replies...I will check everything...thanks again!
Not the engine most likely the bearing or tire...it started after I got the tire fixed...and has gotten louder...

I heard a humming noise on this one highway in the middle of nowhere and I got all worried but it turned out that it was because the pavement had a weird texture. You still wanna check on your car though. Let us know what happens.
