As always ... when I need some help ... it's CEG to the rescue (contributing to keeping this thing alive is the best thing I've done).

Idiot me at the gas station today .... some jack$#s parked in such a way that I couldn't quite get as close to the pump as I should have. In trying to reach my fill tube, the hose pushed against my fuel door causing it to pop out of alignment. Now I can't get it to close.

I know Chris Hightower's site had some info on how to re & re a fuel door ... of course I can't find his site anymore (it's certainly not where it used to be and Google doesn't work). Anyone know how I can fix this? would a digital photo of the problem help?

Thanks!!!

Does it close all the way but refuse to latch, or is that as far as it will close?

That's as far as it will close ... I can force it in ... but it pops right back.

OK with the fuel door open all the way put your hand in where the arm swings closed towards the front of the car and check for any obstructions. If this doesn't work I think by removing the rear passenger tire well liner you will gain better access to the area. I don't know this for sure though.

Thanks ...

I was hoping that there was a way of doing this by following the billet fuel door install instructions ...

There is no obstruction. Thanks for looking!!!! Much appreciated.

No problem at all ... hopefully someone who's installed a billet door or something will be able to help.

Thanks again!
