Its stands for positive crankcase ventilation.

The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) Valve is part of the carâ??s emissions and ventilation systems. It serves as part of the emissions control system by recirculating unburned gases and fumes back through the intake manifold to be reburned.

Also the reason why we have to clean our intake manifolds as part of routine maintenance.
