Trying to start contour for the car show and it cranks but doesn't fire, I don't hear the fuel pump prime. have checked fuses so I was wondering if having a dead battery will do something to the security system? any ideas? Sean

Are you entereing your car in Performance World? What colour is your SVT. It could br your alarm I know of people that the alarm malfunctioned as a result it activated the ignition kill mode.

The car does turn over, everything works but it just doesn't want to start. I am keeping my fingers crossed as yes, his car is going to Performance World, if it will run for us that is. He is part of our clubs display. Everyone needs to keep all fingers and toes and pray before you go to bed tonight that it isn't too serious and can be easily fixed. Okay

If it's been sitting for a while I would guess the fuel pump is shot. That's what happened to the guy who sold me my SVT. It had been sitting for the winter and when he tried to start her in the spring it was a no go. Check the emergency fuel shut off on the kick panel of the drivers side fire wall just beside the dead pedal, it could be tripped.

It's the idle time that kills them. You should start the car up every once in a while when it's parked. The fuel pump on my car was replaced at 10,500Km for the same reason. Let me guess it was about $700 to get it replaced.
