This may be a stupid question, but how can I tell if my car came with factory keyless entry if I didn't get a remote with it when I bought it?
What do I look for and where?
Thanks in advance.

You might be able to get it from the dealer. They might be able to run your VIN code to see if it was equipped with the option.
An alternative would be to enter your VIN on the Ford web site. They have a section "about my car" or something like that... That may give you a list of things that were installed on your car at the factory.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I've seen ONE Contour with crank windows.
Mine has power locks & windows, but I did not have keyless entry. I had to add it on utilizing a Ford manufactured kit. Cost me about $230 for the kit & I installed it myself. A pain in the rear to wire up, but it works great.

If and when you determine that there is a keyless entry system in your car, go to EBay and find one. There are many sellers out there who will have the right model of remote for your car year and model.. You will require the FCC code # that is on the back of the remote, or at some sites you typically supply your make, model and year.
I got a remote for my son's car for US $9.99 plus $3.99 shipping on EBay.new, never used.
Here's one site..on the web.

Mine has crank windows. Wish they were power.

NOW YOU TELL ME!
Hehe, I saw those after I paid beacoup bucks for mine. Even then I would have gone dealer just 'cause I was skeptical about Ebay back then... Lesson learned.
