A rod/main bearing on my duratec seems to have gone (im not sure yet) at 92k. How hard is it to swap engines, if i were to find one?

It's not necessarily that hard. Check out the 3L forum. ALL of those cars' owners are experienced engine swappers.

Same thing happened to me... twice... search and you'll find my story a few times. It's not too bad. look for an engine that hasn't been sitting, that's why the second one went, i think. The one i just put in has a 1 yr warranty, and 53k miles on it, cost $800 + tax. labor was around 400-500 each time. have then put in a clutch if it's a manual, they shouldn't charge any labor for that, or maybe 30 min. a new clutch is only $200, and easy to swap with the engine out.
