What do you mean no emissions? I have to get my Contour checked at least once every two years. Are you saying they wouldn't check for the precat being removed? I sure hope so because want the turbo for SCCA racing and would have to drive the car to the races. If this would be problem, someone with ODBII knowledge please tell me how to "program" the control module so it reports A OK! Please...

don't forget about Florida, they don't test anything down here... 
Are you sure about this? Because if so I think I could have my car registered in FL because my parents have a condo there. Florida plates but the car would be kept in WI. Doable?

in ca they will check everything and fail you if they do not see something even if you pass the sniffer with flying colors. some people here have been know to gut the cats to solve the problem. but then you must make sure you tune it right. if it is done right, your car will look like it has precats, and smell like it has precats without actually having any. additionally any after market parts you put on your car (in cali) that even remotely deal with emisions must be c.a.r.b. certified or you don't pass. basically the epa is strangling cali.

Here in Cali, you really have to find a side-street smog place and do a hint, hint, wink, wink kinda thing. Always worked for me in the past for visual inspections. Of course, this is assuming you can still pass the actual emissions portion of the test, otherwise you're screwed.

I can't figure out why the geovernment cares about visual as long the emissions are clean ??
