I've painted my dash already but I want to remove the paint and start over to paint it a different color.
What steps should I follow to do this?
Also wheres the cheapest place to find sand paper? Saw some at auto zone but it was kinda expensive.

I don't know a ton about paint and such, but i think sanding it all off would be a major PIA. I would think you might wanna use paint thinner, then clean, then sand like you did the first time if you feel necessary.

are you trying to repaint it. You should use 320 to take it down and then use 400 and 500 before you repaint it. Only use wet or dry sand paper.

Roughen up the old paint with sand paper, wipe it with thinner, then spray the new paint. You dont have to take the old paint off.

400 is more for primer, so it'll hold. 1200-1500 for paint and 1500-2000 is for clear. Don't worry about tearing it up, anything 400+ is a fine grit and will just make it hold paint or primer, not get pits and scrathces.

I'd go over 800 on paint. the higher the number, the smoother the paper. You want it to skim off the gloss, not make pits.
