Hey. I'm kinda new so I have to ask. I've got the kenwood KDC715s and KDC665 changer in my car (96 mystique ls) and would actually like to put in a sub and door speakers eventually. I've read on Crutchfield's site about a signal processor, KGC-9044, that sounds interesting. Would it be a waste to install it, seeing as there is only 2 preouts out of the deck at 1.8v and the processor has 3 preouts at 4v, or would it be beneficial in some manner? I plan on getting probably (if the wife allows) 2 12's and already have 2 mtx pro752 for the front and rear speakers( i guess?).

Input would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, this is better than I thought!

Welcome! I'm not entirely sure, so don't take it as gospel, but I think you would need 4 preouts. If the processor has 2 sets of inputs, (for front & rear) then you would miss half since your deck is putting front & rear through one set of A/V cables. You could try usng an A/V Y splitter but then you are putting front and rear sound to all the speakers which will ruin the sound. You could hook up a Sub & Amp with one preout but I don't know how you would hook up an amp for the speakers. Like I said, I could be wrong, but I don't think it would work for you.

Hi. I don't think I made myself too clear. The signal processor has 3 preouts, 1 front, 1 rear and 1 non fade for subs. I plan on getting another amp for the sub. Does this make things any easier?
In essence, I'll have one amp powering the fronts, one amp powering the rears and one amp powering the subs. I think this will work.

Won't it?

Sorry, I had just woken up when I read your post so I was a little groggy. When I read 2 preouts I thought "two A/V plugs". There is a lesson to be learned from this, I just don't know what it is, well, I have to go to work...

There is at least one member of this list who is a pro installer who thinks that kenwood is the best. I would definitely rank their equipment towards the top, especially if you can find a good price.

Hey y'all. Thanks for the replies. I've been reading this group for awhile and I've learned that you 2 guys are pretty good at determining stuff about audio. Yes, the deck does have 2 preouts, front and rear. I am looking for a good price, just trying to find a dealer in Ontario who sells it instead of Crutchfield's. Anybody know of any one?
BTW, how do you do the smilies on posts?

[I have the KDC 515S and it is routed through the Ford amp ... it works just fine .. my suggestion is to replace the speakers .. there is a weak link for you.
Get this, I wanted to buy a new amp and replace the Ford one and it was all set to go until the tech got inside my car and said" You got one of the few JBL amps I have come across in a Ford, if it were my car, I wouldn't swap it out"
Why would they not want to sell me an amp...???? jj
