OP MSquared CEG\'er M Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 93	out of nowhere the other day my car wouldnt start. when i turn the key to the run position the light in the dash just blinks instard of staying on for three seconds. the motor doesnt crank or anything. the only way i can get it to start is take the battery cable off. Please help is it REAL annoying. Mike

garrick_dup1 CEG\'er G Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 122 Denver, CO	There are several lights on the instrument panel. Which one blinks at you? I suggest doing a Search for "Blinking _____ Light". Does the starter make any noise at all (e.g., clicking)? Makes me wonder if your battery terminals are in need of cleaning. Please help is it REAL annoying. Mike Light? What light? Have you counted how many lights there are in the instrument cluster? The motor is not supposed to crank when the key is in RUN. That's what the START position is for. You must have a magic battery cable if the engine will crank with the battery cable disconnected. Please clarify including the engine, transmission, and year of your car.
