How much fuel does the car have left when the fuel pump light comes on? I believe there is a set amount...

Some people say about a gallon or two, but I wouldn't bet any money on it. Anyway, it can be harmful to the fuel system of any vehicle to let the gas tank get that low.

True, there is sediment in the bottom of the tank when it gets that low...so it could end up cloging fuel filters or injectors...I wouldn't call it harmful, just a matnence problem...try to fill up at 1/4 tank left when ever possible.

Not that it affects those of you in GA and CA, but around here its recommended to keep your tank above 1/2 to minimize condensation in the tank during the winter months. I've seen the fuel-low light once. I've even purchased gas on my credit card to make sure it doesn't get too low.

never depend on the fuel light my tour ran out of gas right on 1/4 tank of gas

Sounds like you ahve a fule level sensor problem...you have to replace the whole pump...unless you fixed it already.

well see i bveen replacing the fuel pump so just bought the whole inside of the gas tank guts

A few days ago, i had a problem where after i filled up it still said i had half a tank left....i had to remove the batter cables and let it sit for 5 minutes to fix it....It may also be an instrument cluster issue...good luck fixing the problem!!!!

I dont have a fuel light  I intentionally let my car idle till she died, then added 5 Gallons, no Warning light, I Was depressed
