Rain is actually filthy. Take a look at the windows on your house....they probably have water spots or dirt on them...that is because rain is dirty. If you wipe it down after a rain you'll just be spreading the dirt around causing tiny scratches in your clearcoat.

There is some truth to that. However, if you use one of the California Blades, you are removing the water from teh surface. So you will have much less dirt/water on the car. Same with using a chamois, except there will more water left behind with one of those.

I use my Absorber to dry the car off after it rains. It always looks so much better than before it rained, even if I just finished washing it.

i agree with u there...i spent two hours washing polishing and waxing with meguiars saturday..but after wiping it down after the rain it seemed alot cleaner...maybe i just needed that extra buffing action that i was too tired (lazy) to do saturday..i wont make the "wipe down" a habit..but i wanted my car clean for the weekend and if the rain had dried on it i would have had to do the whole wash thing..and wont have that kind of time until sunday or so...

It APPEARS cleaner but I would NEVER just wipe the car down with dirt on it, whether it be a CA water blade or chamois or anything. Either way, dirt is going to stick to the car and you will we dragging it and digging it into the paint. Will most definitely cause scratches. I can see swirlish small scratches after using my CA car duster sometimes, imagine wiping!

I agree with Johnny. If it's dirty, wash it. Would you clean your car the same way as your ass?

Depends on how much it rains. If it rains a lot and relly washes over the car, I dont see how drying it would do any harm.
I wouldnt dry it if it just sprinkled a little bit.

you might want to hose her down again before you dry it just to get the dirt off.
