Dealership= $1800
Meinekie= $1346

I was told to try an additive called G2P FROM AUTOZONE/ADVANCE AUTO PARTS.

I placed it in. I just need to past the emmissions test. I will try to fix this thing later. Can anyone help me? If gutting the precat is the answer. Can anyone direct me to a shop where I can get it done?

Are you SURE you need to? I was told by dealer that I need it, but the CEL went away after a good run on the freeway (about 40 miles) and it's running fine.

Try a can of fuel additive and GOOD gasoline, like maybe Chevron.

I am getting 0420 and 0430 codes....a few months ago I went to savanah from atlanata (300 miles each way) and the cel went off after 150-200 miles on its own and stayed off for about a week then it came back on. I am trying the G2P additive now prior to getting it replaced. When I took it to Meineke they did a temp reading and told me they were both bad.

if I buy the gutted precats from them ..I will need the MIL. Most muffler shops will not help me out in a gutted precat. Where do I go from here?

Just have the shop install them, then put the MIL's on yourself... They just hook up to the 02 sensors.

Try cleaning your maf. That cleared my p0420 code. It hasn't come back since.

Cleaning the throttle body with the engine running fixed my P0430 code. I also replaced the upstream oxygen sensors at the same time.

Passed the emissions check with plenty of room to spare.

Here is a link to my post detailing what I did and the emissions test results.

Did anyone buy it from them(Buckshotmotorsport)? $80 listed on their site seem a pretty good deal but is that for both banks on Duratec.

The $80 is the price to gut a set of precats. I've got a set on hand that I gut and when you pay me the $80 plus the refundable core charge I send you my precats and as long as you return your old ones within 30 days I refund the core charge. Please PM or email me if interested.

Thanks,
Rick
