OP Dan Nixon_dup1 Hard-core CEG\'er D Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 1,469 Virginia	First prolem with my 99 SVT (45K miles).. At idle and at speed it is surging..revs kick up about 500+ RPM like the throttle was poked. Occurs in a cyclic fashion, about every 6 seconds. Hood open, a hissing sound is associated that sounds like the throttle is opened but it is not moving. ?? some valve like a PCV or EGR opening...I have no idea but thought you guys might. Cleaned MAF meter, no help. Idle is still otherwise smooth, car otherwise runs fine. Any thoughts?? ANY THREAD WITH "OMG" or "WTF" ETC IN THE TITLE WILL BE IGNORED!

Lean mixture and car starts to die then PCM tells IAC to increase rpm (and fuel) which gives U the hissing -revs up 500+. Then PCM tells IAC back off idle is too high..... cycle repeats! Spray WD40 around UIM-LIM gaskets -if surging stops that's it.
