I had to take the dash apart and use a huge-ass pair of tin snippers to get medieval on the stupid tabs on the radio. This is after 3 hours of trying everything i could do to try to dislodge the radio. What happened was that the left tab ate into the plastic frame and wouldnt move, i couldnt get it off, cause there was enough play in the plastic that it just flexed rather then gettting the tab off....oh well, at least i succeeded.

get a coat hanger or two, thick wire ones. Cut into four long pieces. Stick the pieces in the four holes on the radio (this pushes the retaining tabs back) pull or wedge the radio out with a screwdriver.
Good luck.

get two coat hangers and cut at each end before it begins to bend. then, bend each peice you cut so that it fits straight into the holes on each side of the radio. the ends of eachkey that you have made, need to be cut after you have dont this so that the ends push the tabs which hold the stock stereo in at the same time. now, put one key on one of the sides and push slightly in towards the stereo, you should feel a click of some sort. DO NOT push too far, that will break the tab and you willl have to cut the stereo in half or something. now that it is firm and in place, pull a little so that the one side pulls out a little. you will know when this happens. put the other key in and repeat, but when you go to pull the side out, you will pull the entire stereo out. hope this helps!

the easist way is to go to a car stereo store and ask them to borrow thier Ford HU removal tool, stick it in the holes and pull out, simple. takes less than 5 seconds.

First, buy the removal tool. My kit came with four individual pins with loops on the ends. Notice that the pins are notched. When you insert the pins in the holes on the rt side of the radio...make sure the notches are facing the driver door. The opposite is true when you install the pins into the holes on the left side of the radio...the notches should face passenger door. Insert the pins until they kinda click into place. Now insert one finger into each one of the loops/hoops...whatever. Without trying to pull the radio towards you yet...spread the loops apart. Sorta as if you were trapped in an elevator and were trying to pry the doors apart. While prying the loops outward (maybe a 1/4" on each side), pull the radio towards you. If your wiring harness is long enough and/or not strapped down somewhere, you should be able to pull your radio out far enough to un-clip the radio from the harness. Mine wasn't that easy...oh well. Hope this helps you. FYI...I bought my DIN removal tool from www.mcmelectronics.com for about $7.
