Got a cocky friend w/an 89 Taurus SHO. Should I attempt to shut him up, or accept the fact...??

How modded are you vs. him? How well does the SHO run vs. your car?

Stock for stock and same skill behind the wheel, I strongly believe the 89 SHO will take you in a straight-line race. They were the lightest and fastest of the bunch (I know as I had one that I modded up).

The Yamaha 3.0 V6 is still one of my all-time favorite engines. They just get better with age and they are damn-near bulletproof, unlike almost every accessory surrounding it in the engine bay.

I would accept the fact I also used to have an 89 SHO, and it was quick, torquey too. Unless your buddy isn't such a great driver, I'd leave it alone, if he is cocky now, and you guys go at it and he wins..he'll be even worse

Yep. I have a friend with a '94 SHO and it definitely feels stronger than my SVT. Which is why I hope to get a 3L someday to truly "compete"

Just do it... Why do people feel that they will only go into a race if they KNOW they are going to win? Depending on what you have done, and what kind of shape his SHO is in, you could easily make it a close race... But that's ofcourse at a "track"...
