I'm gonna visit my cousin in NYC, she lives at 65Street on the West side of Manhattan. She says that it is nearly impossible to park for free in Manhattan, and even when I would find a place I would have to move the car frequent cause of restrictions a.s.o., and that parking is also not safe for the car, but I wanna go to NYC with my car, so what can I do?
Has anyone a good tip for me where to park my car in NYC while I'm there?

It all depends On the Time Of day you go there after 6pm If you can find a place you should be Ok.That's a Nice area up There. I'm working at 87th and Broadway this week And the streets are tight. The thing that sucks on contours that the mirrors don't bend back. You should Post In The NY forum You probably get a better response

At 44th and 6th is a $24 day parking garage called the Hippodrome.

It is cheaper than most of the lots around the 60's. It is not a bad walk if the weather is nice.

There is parking around Radio City, at a slightly higher cost. (58th, 57th street and 6th ave area). A little closer but more money.

Just accept the inevitable and pay to park. It is cheaper than being towed and a bit more secure. Just don't leave valuable in the car. Parking attendants are usually honest, but why try and find out which ones aren't.

I wouldn't leave a bike outside overnight. It will get stripped...

I've driven in Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, overseas while in the service (especially the Autobahn), and I've never seen anything like driving in NYC. Unless you have nerves of steel and a brain to match, no way would I drive my SVT in NYC. Most of the drivers are crazy!!! On the other hand, I guess if you want to survive, you have to be nuts behind the wheel. I'd rent a car before I'd take my own--just be sure to get the extra insurance, you'll probably need it.

Sorry, but when you say Pablo, all I can think of is the parking attendant from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

It really is not that bad! I used to drive my SVT into work everyday, 33rd and 10th. New hours and new location, so no more driving in. The only thing when driving in, is people can't park for shizzle on the street. I also got keyed. I had a 911 rear end me as well. Park the car in a lot, in on of the racks and the car should be ok. The only people you really have to be worried about are the cabbies and T&LC cars. They are the worst!
