To reset readiness codes I was told to take off the terminals and place them together(away from the poles on the battery) for 30 seconds inorder to reset the computer. Is this true?????????

Someone must not like you.............
Just remove either battery cable,, negative is safer, and keep off for 15 minutes.... or there are some fuses you can remove,,, doing the fuses will also retain your settings in u'r cd player, so that's the preferred method.

If I pull the 4 and 11 fuse will I, that the same time pull off the terminals as well to kill the power? Or would pulling the fuses with battery terminals attached be what these instructions are saying?

My OLD mechanic use to take the negative cable and touch it to the positive cable and terminal! or he would take a long screw driver and use it to touch both battery terminals while the cables are connected. Said that's how you reset the computer! You don't have to wait 30 minutes that way!
Needless to say I haven't used him in 2 years now!

The fuse box outside panel says to detach the battery cables before "servicing" fuses. So do that, then pull the fuses. Leave of for "15 min" and expect the computer to take a few days to Re-Learn the idle, a/f ratio, etc.

Yah, it says that, I dont think anyone really listens to that... But If you wanna reset your computer the positive sure way, just unplug the Negative battery cable for 15 minutes. (I do 30 just to be sure) Or just unplug it over night just to be sure!

Just pull the 3A pink fuse (11) and the 20A fuse (4) for 20 seconds or so... make sure the key is not in the ignition as this will keep power dispersed.
So..remove key, then pull those two.. 30 seconds later place them back and start car.. CEL gone.
