Anyone try a set of waveguides and kickpanel speakers in their 'tours. I think this is a perfect set up for our cars.

A Canadian did about 2 years ago. Sold the vehicle but I think you can find it in an old edition of Car Audio Magazine. Or check out Canadiaan Audio and Radio (CAR).

im thinking about sticking 8's in my kick panels as well, i have a guy who is almost my brother, who owned an audio shop, and went to school for installs. im going to get him to help me out when he comes down in a month and help me. im also pretty sure that i can get a 5 1/4, 3 1/2, and a tweeter in the factory (yeah, thats right) location. that and the 8's will have a sweet front stage. for an enclosure, he said you can use expanding foam (noisekiller by rockford fosgate, etc) by making a cutout, and putting tape around it, layer each time so it expands to an inch, once it it pretty long, put the window all the way down, put it in the cutout, and trim with a razor all the excess. he says, "trick of the trade" i cant wait to try that out!
95 zetec no engine mods 20% tint, limo strip alpine cda7876, alpine dddrive components ddc-r17h, 2 kicker 12L7 in a ported box facing forward and sealed from the trunk air space, zapco limited edition z600 (2) getting the 3-way component set

Tater, you should do just the opposite. Put the mids/tweets in the kickpanel and the 8" in the door. The 8 will be acting as a subwoofer of sorts, in the system you describe. The sound will be somewhat non-directional, dimininishing the main advantage to a kickpanel system.
As far as waveguides go, I wouldn't mind them, but if I got them, I couldn't drive the car since i would not fit. My legs are right up against the dash with the seat as far back as it will go.

I agree, midwoofers should always be in the door because they are more unidirectional that tweets and midrange speakers, if you can get them to fit, some sort of enclosure would make use of it's piston range and give you the feeling that the bass is comming front in front of you rather than behind (like most systems are). Sorry to hear that.
I would love to install some on my 'tour but I'm not sure I want to spend the money on the 31 band, Mono EQ's either. You can't appreciate them unless you tweak them to perfection. As far as fitment, I think they would blend in real nice.
Any suggestions?
