Some people on the rec.aviation.military newsgroup were discussing it. They estimated it'd take a couple million to get the thing certified airworthy, and then you've got to find a pilot who's qualified to fly it. It's a showpiece, in other words.

that 1st pic is weird...the f/a 18 is like 3 feet off the ground and its landing gear are already up?

That's probably because he was doing a simulated "touch and go" Our pilots do that all the time except they actually put their landing gear down and come almost down to simulate a landing then go back up. Years ago they would actually touch the wheels down then go up but they realized this was wearing out tires much faster than if they just almost touch. That pic was probably taken at an air show and the pilot was showing his skills in being able to come ever so close to the ground without actually hitting it.
