I replaced mine and I did not....though you do have to have some flexability to get up in there to say the least. Have to get it from underneath the car when the engine is cold!!!!!
No. It's been a while since I did mine. I did remove the oil filter to gain more room and used a regular socket or a stuby wrench to remove it. I forget the size now.

Flexability? I replaced the rear pre-cat O2 sensor. I removed the original one with an O2 sensor socket that the how-to says won't fit in there.
I screwed the replacement in from the BOTTOM because I could not get it to go in from the top. When I tried to put the O2 sensor socket on it to tighten it, I realized that it won't fit because the Bosch O2 sensors are thicker than the original equipment NTK sensors, and the firewall is in the way.
Then I went out to buy a 7/8" wrench and used that to tighten it from the top. (This is where having a 2nd car comes in handy...)
After THAT, I think the oil pressure sender is gonna be easy. I just hate messy jobs, though.
The reason I think it's the oil pressure sender is that the AC compressor is soaked with oil, and it's not from the compressor.
I had the exact same problem. I coldn't figure out where all that oil was comming from until I realized the oil sensor was there.....with your previous experience this one shouldn't be all that tought!!!!!
