Shift before it sounds like it's gonna explode. j/k Acceleration: 14;25;33;48 normal driving 12;20;29;40 Though you can probably shift higher if you really gotta get somewhere. And for about $25 you can get an instrument cluster from a junkyard w/ tach.

A car with a manual tranny and NO tach!!! How absurd... Your best bet is to measure your tire diameter and then figure out what the MPH is in every gear based on tranny gear and final gear. Very simple really!

It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

Also, I believe only the Mystiques have I4's with a Tach, so if you're searching, take a look at them.

I'm not trying to second you guess you here or anything but I got a few questions.
If I put that in with all the lights, brake, oil, CEL, seat belt, battery, and the O/D etc., all still work or will I have to move bulbs around?
Also my other question is how will it work since it wasnt designed with a tach in it. The connectors back there and just fit into both cluster or something?
thanks

Actually some zetec Contours had tachs as well, even ones with autos... It's all plug and play.. Just buy the cluster for about $25 at local junkyard or www.car-parts.com (specify your exact model) and remove old cluster (some screws can be hard to get to, but not a big deal) on 96+ there are two connectors back there, connect them and you're good to go. For 95s, it may be different.

or just buy one of those ricey moster tachs and bolt it to the top of the dash. they go to 10,000 rpm, which will leave you some room incase you do some not yet invented mods to the contour.
