I was wondering what people thought about the KKM intake and whether or not i should go with a different company that offers a heat shield. Or ways to make my own. I'm new to this site and any help would be appreciated. By the way i did a search and came up with nada.

If you came up with nada in the search, you are doing something wrong.

Make your own. It is the cheapest and most functional option.

If you must have a HAI (hot air intake ) then checkout Brad/Rick's emporium of awesome stuff. BNMotorsports.com

You'll still need a good heatshield to make it a CAI. (or to make any "other brand" HAI into a CAI)

KKM sucks and implodes. sometimes. Just go with the recommended set up, it's not recommended because we want to see your car fall apart. But if you really want to waste more money on an intake, send the difference to me so I can make my heatshield.

Just because eveyone drives a Honda Civic means that we should all get one too? KKM's are an inverse cone design that can implode at high rpms. This is a known fact, and although it doesn't happen to everyone, I personally know a couple people it's happened to. I'll stick with K&N, thanks.

So Threat, you are saying that I should not warn of the known dangers with KKM. I have never personally owned one, but multiple accounts is all it takes to turn me away. You must be one broke kid if you buy everything people tell you not to, with good reason.

KKM HAS KNOWN IMPLODING PROBlEMS!!!!!

No "if's" or "ands" about it!!!!

If you do get one....chuck the filter and replace it with a K&N filter. a RU-3530 works nicely.

Do youself a favor (from some one who use to own a KKM)buy a after market filter adpater and K&N filter and call it the end. Don;t get KKM....if you search you find so much better for cheaper too.
