Yea.. well now the car is giving me a constant CEL. When the car is started the CEL is off as soon as you give it gas the CEL comes off. I did this three times w/ turnin the car off and giving it gas and it was after the car had been driven too. To me it sounds like there is a vacuum leak or clog somewhere because otherwise the CEL wouldn't come on after the car is given gas and the vacuum system is engaged. I just want to get this crap fixed.

#1 are you sure those DPFE tubes are reattached to the EGR tube? I bet they are, but it never hurts to check.

#2 I had my cats replaced by Ford. My main cat used to sound like rattling rocks when the car was cold. CEG pointed out that Ford had a recall on that cat. I'm not sure on the other cats. I believe they did replace mine however.

#3, if DPFE is okay I may be the cats. Does your main cat sound like a kettle full of rocks when the car is cold?

hey I've got a '95 Mercury Mystique V6. I had a similar problem. My dfpt hose kept popping off. Eventually, I started to experience sever performance problems. It got to the point where the back pressure was limiting my speed to less than 50mph at full throttle.

Problem: Main cat had collapsed or become blocked.
Solution: Replaced main cat (and rest of exhaust with SVT while I was at it) and installed worm clamps on dfpt hoses at manifold side.
