Does anyone out there have the intake that is offered at the SHO Shop installed on there SVT? The one with the heat shield on it. I was looking at getting one but would like some feedback to see if its the right one for me. I know that when the summer months come along (hope its soon with all this damn snow) the intake can get heat soaked. I read somewhere that this one is one of the better ones to get. Any feedback would be great.

Gt a cheap MAF adaptor; K&N 3530; and a $4.00 rubbermaid plastic trash can to make a heatshield your self. Save a bunch of bucks for something that works better.
MSDS, SHO-shop Y, custom 2.5" catback; xcal2; 63mm TB, K&N 3530; Koni struts, Aussie bar; THaines forks, Quaife, SpecII, UR fly; DMD; Nima UD pullies; Stazi brakes; f&r Pole120 mounts. Just a daily commuter car. Silver '98 SVT E0 #3159

I asked the same question about a week ago and the CEGers told me that SHO Shop will rip you off. Someone even gave me a link to the Better Business Bureau who had a report on them.

me either, though i have only bought one thing from them, which happens to be the intake you speak of. i like it, it was on sale, so i bought it. works fine, no problems with it so far. i dont know if i would trust sho shop anymore though. you are better off making your own. it will be about $40 cheaper than what i paid as well.

i'm not seeing how everyone on here is saying that the K&N w/ heatshield will work better when you still have the stock intake tube.
Am I missing something here?

Use a marine battery box from Wal-mart. I bought it for $4 and it looks good.

I've had the SHO Shop intake on my car for 1.5 years now. It gives the car a more agressive sound, especially when you remove the fenderwell silencer. I eventually ditched the air filter for a bigger one. The heatshield is nice though.
