right now i have a kenwood kac 729 amp, its 300watts brigded to a 12" kenwood exelon,
i have another amp and sub (both the same) on the way, and just was wondering if it would be a good idea

capacitors are gr8 inventions. but they are primarily used for systems puching upto and over 1000 watts. i do have a friend, however, who put a capacitor on a system with 600 watts on his chevy monte carlo. he had a problem with his light dimming when the system would hit hard. since he put it in, he has had no problems. My system in my CSVT has no problems at all w/o a capacitor and i runn around 750 peak power.it's up to you wether to get one. the people who installed my system said it wouldn't be worth it unless i ran over 1000 watts. our cars don't have the power drain problem like some others. but getting one now will negate the need to get one later if u decide to upgrade ur system.

I have a question also...

I have my capacitor hookd up but my lights still dim... I have checked the connections and they seem all good... what could be wrong?

You can more than likely solve the problem buy simply improving your batteries ground.

I was looking at the pictures of your setup, and I noticed the amp and the cap are on opposite sides of the trunk. I just installed a cap, and the instructions said to keep the power wire between the amp and cap less than 18 inches.

You can charge your cap on your car battery... my RF cap came with a charge card with a couple of lights that tells you when its charged/discharged

If your cap is connected to the battery, it is charged....lol....

If your lights dim, check all ground and make sure you upgrade you factory ground cable (car comes with a 10awg ground) all you need is 2ft of 4awg and 2 ring terminals. There is a factory bolt under the airbox. That should take care of any problems
