My car (99 SVT see below) vibrates when I turn left at high speeds (50mph+) such as when getting off a highway ramp. It is not a clicking sound typical to CV joint problems. Someone mentioned possibly it being a ball joint and to check it by jacking one side up about 2 inches, putting a bar under the tire, and applying vertical pressure to the tire while an assistant views the ball joint to check for play. Any more than 1/4" of play could mean the ball joint. Anyways, any suggestions on this problem and/or this method to check the ball joints?

if the sound is speed variable it is a wheel bearing. normally you get that noise when turning and sometimes when going straight
