Isn't a LSD and a lightweight flywheel at least $1000.00? Adding the clutch would push the job well over $1,300.00, even if you did the work yourself. I think it is a great idea to upgrade but I disagree with you that it would cost the same as paying someone for a stock clutch replacement. Most importantly, most people like me and unlike you, can not do that kind of a job.

LSD $550-600 (including bearings)
Flywheel $300-400
Clutch $325
Forks $50
Syncros $30-150 (IIRC)

$1250-1400

or

Labor ($700-1000) plus $300-400 (clutch set, forks, syncros)

When you are talking about a $1000 plus job then $100 to 200 is very little considering the work and money involved.
DO IT RIGHT the first time is ALWAYS my motto!

I was just showing that if you CAN do it yourself you can do all the upgrades for about the same as paying labor plus stock parts.

I just dropped around $1300 on my tranny work and did everything listed plus a couple extra... No I did NOT pay retail though. Again it pays to be able to turn your own wrenches and having sources is nice too...

A SPEC Stage 1 is only $330 retail!!! (upgraded disc, upgraded PP, and new T/O)

DO NOT pay more for a stock setup!!!

If you go through Bill or fordparts it's under $300 for stock IIRC.

Well I had my friend call from his car dealership and got all the clutch componets for the low low price of 260.00 with no sales tax... So I think I am gonna go with the stalkers... For the simple fact that I dont race around town any more "That much;)" and I plan on getting a new car in the next year so dont wanna soak to much money in this gem....

Well it looks like the one spring one the clutch/pressure plate poped out and wouldnt allow it to dissengage.. So far it's cost me 255.00 for clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing/slave cylinder.... Now all I got to worry about is 40 bucks for for the cutting of the fly wheal and labor.. Which I am hoping is like 350.. So wish me luck!!!

I had my slave and master cylinder go out a couple of months ago. So I decided to have them replace the clutch while they were in there (74K miles). I paid $1350 total of which 8-900 was labor. I believe Ford states that a clutch replacement is a 8-9 hour job IIRC. Labor runs anywhere from 80-100 an hour.
