I've got a 98 Contour SE Sport with V-6/5speed. Love the car, hate fixing it!
Problem is a) Interior lights stay on after starting, or stopping car b)Intermitent wipers don't work, and when activating wind shield washer no wipers c)Rear defrost doesn't work. I've read here before I joined that it's likely a Timer relay under the fuse box in the footwell. IS there a way to test the module before replacing it?

Thanks for the info horsey. I tried the test using the defrost button, but got no results whatsoever. Any futher suggestions?

Chances are good it's the CTM but, as you will have noted from link I provided, there have been cases where faulty wiring at the interior fuse panel has led to symptoms similar to CTM failure.
BTW I presume your dome light switch is in 12 sec delay position.

Yep, dome light is on 12sec delay. Killed battery 4 times before I figured it out. Footwell lights eventually burned out. I'll replace the module later this week and let you know. THanks for the help.
