Guys and gals,
I have an old (4yrs) pioneer deh-425 stereo/CD player in my 95 Contour. For the last three months, and without warning, the stereo will cut off. The head unit is still getting power, or at least the lights are illuminated and I can hear the CD player playing. Anyway, after a day or so the stereo comes back on. Went out this afternoon, and has yet to come back on. Any ideas? The lack of sound from the speakers is driving me crazy, because now all I hear is how many rattles my 110K mile 95 Contour has. Thanks for any help, Wes.

Have you checked over all your connections(i.e.power, ground, signal)?? That is the most likely culprit. Outside of that I would say something internal is wrong with the head unit. You could try taking it somewhere and have it serviced. Other than that I would say it's time for a new head unit. Hope this helps.
