Is there any one that is running 1600 watts or more in there tour. reason I am asking is that I want to know if any has had to change there ALTERNATOR in their car or even amped it up. my project system that i want to put in my tour is three infinity perfect 10"s one 8" on rear dash 6 1/2 perfect 6.1 in the front and infinity 6x9 in the back doors powered by jbl 1200.1 and a rockford fosgate 50 X 4 (at least for now) and if not should i put another battery(s)

i'm running and Fosgate 800a4, and Power 500a2. i haven't touched a thing. i have a 1 farad cap, which i would also recommend you get, and my lights don't dim, no power loss, and i haven't had any problems with my alternator. i think the key is using good components and not blasting your stereo while the car just sits there (i.e. playing basketball, at a party.... you know extended periods of time, not at stop lights). other then that, you'll be fine

I agree with slec, you will have to be careful at get at the very least a 1 farad cap. Try to avoid playing it for long periods of time when it is not running.

i have lights dimming w/ only a comp 600 watt amp...so you recomend only a 1 farad cap?

At least a 1 farad cap. I would actually advise 2 fd. My amp is running 600 watts w/o dimming with a 1 farad cap. Actually, I didn't get much dimming before the cap was installed.

I'm running two Kicker ZR 360's, a Kicker ZR 240, and a ZX 460. that's 556w+554w+356w+205w+206w @ 4 ohms per channel. comes out to 1877 watts. I have two 1 Farad caps. And it doesn't dim my lights a bit. With 1 cap it did, but no more. My car's still running at 14.1 volts too.

It really depends on the quality of product you buy, and what type. I have two Infinity Beta amps putting out 2000 watts RMS alone, but there digital and I believe 80% efficient, they only draw 40amps. I use PPI amps to run the rest of the system, and with the stiffening caps on the power rails, and the PM powersupply, it really evens out the amps that it draws.. you don't get a surge from the amplifiers drawing tons of amps at once. The general rule for capacitors is the number of farads multiplied by 1000 equals the max wattage it can handle... .25f=250watts... 1f-1000watts and so on. I use (4) .5f capacitors for my sub amps... 2 for each.

Now does any one have pictures to show of your systems? if you please i would like to see them, and i think this topic has come up before but does any one kick panels, if you do where did you gt them. the only reason I dont do my own is I hate the itching after a while.

There aren't any manufacturers of kick panels for the contour. The only options are hire someone to make them or make them yourself. No pics at this time.

I have 3 MMats d200hc's and a MMats d2045hc, and that totals about 4000 watts, with an Optima battery and 3 stiffening caps, I have no problem at all with lights dimming or electrical problems.

I do however have lots of problems with the bass breaking $hit!!
