OP blaze CEG\'er B Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 175 Viburnum, MO	If the precats are plugged up can u just gut them and then have the main convertor replaced or is this going to send the computer into shock and throw the CEL light on? I think mine are plugged up. I did some searches but didnt find much explaining someones results with this. How can you check for plugged precats, home mechanic way? jmatzick_dup1 CEG\'er J Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 195 Mexico	I gutted my precats and yes you will get a cel for the downstream O2 sensors afterwards. You can rectify that by installing MIL Eliminators. One for each downstream sensor. About 30 bucks for a pair. I don't really think you can check the condition of your precats without cutting open the housing.
