I have been waiting on the weather to warm up to clean the tb. I have since replaced the sparkplugs. I am 1 month overdue to get my emissions/tag. please help with ideas.

projectSHO89_dup1 Hard-core CEG\'er P Joined: Sep 2002 Posts: 1,788 St. Louis, MO	You have only two options: 1) Gut the pre-cats (or install aftermarket headers sans cats), install MILs, keep it off-road (legally) or take your chances with the emissions testing, etc. 2) Get the pre-cats replaced so the system works as intended. You can do the work yourself, but the parts are horribly expensive and are not available aftermarket. I did # 2 (still under 8/80 warranty) Steve 98 Contour SE Sport 2.5 Duratec ATX The wifey's car 89 Taurus SHO - 246K miles 94 SHO ATX - 190K 1997 F-150 5.4L ATX - The Workhorse 150K. ANY THREAD WITH "OMG" or "WTF" ETC IN THE TITLE WILL BE IGNORED!

gearhead98 Hard-core CEG\'er G Joined: Jun 2003 Posts: 1,145 Durham NC	not much there is a set of manifolds on ebay i beleavie for aroud 300 if you did it yourseld it would be cheap, personally i would gut the pre-cats when i did it it makes a big difference in the upper end or rpm's and pulls alot harder 98.5 Black SE ATX S&B filter, SVT MAF, optimized SVT TB, mesh grille, removed orange reflectors, painted rear reflector, gutted pre-cats, optimized SVT LIM, 19lb injectors, resonator removed cant afford an svt but lookin for 1 in nc
