please list your stories on how and what you did to avoid a stealership repair. I have been waiting on the weather to warm up to clean the tb. I have since replaced the sparkplugs. I am 1 month overdue to get my emissions/tag. please help with ideas.

You have only two options:

1) Gut the pre-cats (or install aftermarket headers sans cats), install MILs, keep it off-road (legally) or take your chances with the emissions testing, etc.

2) Get the pre-cats replaced so the system works as intended. You can do the work yourself, but the parts are horribly expensive and are not available aftermarket.

I did # 2 (still under 8/80 warranty)

I took mine to the dealer and they replaced both manifolds under warranty.
