I'm looking for some help.

I'd like to put a cheap pair of rims on my '00 SVT for snow tires. However, I've heard that steel rims will not work because the calipers or rotors are too big to allow clearance. So my question is . . . does anyone know any cheap rims and where to get them from that would work or would I have to buy SVT rims and throw snow tires on those? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I have a '00 CSVT, stock. Right now I am using 15" steelies withour any problems. Check the classifieds section.

If you can find a cheap set of 16's I've got a set of blizzaks for sale 225/50/16 that are brand new. However to answer your question, 15" steels will clear the SVT brakes, however 14" will not.

Thanks,
Rick

Visual proof that 15" steelies do infact work on the CSVT, mine is a 2000 CSVT

This is from the fall of 2001 and the tires were P205/60/15 Michelin "Pilot" Alpins mounted on the 15" steelies.

I've got 15" Borbet wheels with winter tires on my CSVT, and there's plenty of clearance.

May I reccommend Blizzak LM-22s? They are a FANTASTIC tire, the perfect balance between snow/ice and dry but cold performance. I couldn't be happier.
