The only OBD II reader that I have found anyone to talk about is Alex's reader here.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with or any other advice about these other two. Yeah, they are more expensive but are there advantages?

Since ESP is expiring in less than 3 months, and the woman's Camry is past its warranty, I gotta hop on it, after the Camry CEL came on the week it needed to go in for emissions test.

Thanks!

Alex's software works great and is even cheaper when you get a student or group buy discount....... why would you want a different reader?

A "creader" from Harbor Freight is $49.99. All it does is tell you the code and clear it. That's all I need is the code. I don't know how much Alex Pepper's software is, but the $50 code reader works just fine for me.

Cost me $85 in the GB and does a lot more. A lot more helpful in diagnosing problems. Just the fact that it shows soon-to-be (sorry forgot the real name) codes is a good reason to get it.

hmm...maybe potential?...
That's a lot cheaper than I thought it was, but then you have to have a lap top of course. I just might have to get this software sooner or later. But if you have no lap top, just get a cheap code reader and rely on the forum to help you out.

I thought of it,,, pending... and yeah gotta have a laptop, or run a long cable from home computer to the car. The only reason I got it was because a friend gave me a laptop. Try to find somebody with an old laptop they no longer use.

I'm no expert...but I can read. It says $122 I believe, and that's the least expensive option. Full time students have 20% off also.
