I got a 98 svt contour...I have the h&r lowering springs on it right now and recently just purchased some 17's. My question is what would be a better choice 225/45/17 or 215/45/17 because i'm not sure if the 225's would rub or not. Please leave me feedback thaks a lot!

what is the offset on your 17s? I have Eibachs and it rubbed when I put back my stock rims with 225/50/16s. The offset will usually determine whether it rubs or not.

215/45/17 is usually the best for 17. its the closest to the stock overall diameter, speedo will be off the least.

I am probably going to go with 225/40/17's when I get some wheels... I like the extra width and the 40 series will even it out so you aren't going to get any rubbing... Or shouldn't anyway

225/40, 235/40, or 215/45 all on 17. Those are your only non-rub options. I know.

I had 225/45/17 on my 2000 svt with eibach lowering springs on enkie rs7 wheels and they where fine up front but with a few people in the back it would rub alls you have to do it take a little pair of pliers and pull the section where the bumper and fender come together very slightly and they will do fine. great handling and less spining

225/40/17 is made by one company. Nitto 555's
With 225/45/17's on a 17x7 42mm offset I rubbbed on dips/bumps and majorly rubbed with 3+ people in my car.

yeah, 235/40's would be best, and then you can go with a ton of tire choices. . .
