ok i have only had this happen one other time and it only didn't want to start after a couple of cranks. but this moring i go out in the garage to head to w/m and the thing just won't fire, it is turing over but it seems as though it either isn't getting spark, or it isn't getting fuel. anyone else ever experience this problem, if so what did you do to remedy the situation. i would like to avoid taking it in for repairs due to my nontrusting of the dealers in the area. just to make it clear i am speaking of my 98.5 svt. any help would be greatly appreicated.

Alex

Same thing on my 98.5 SVT. It's your crank position sensor. Cost me about 50 bucks to have it fixed. Exactly the same problems you are seeing.

I had a similar problem twice. It acted like it was flooded. I left the car for a few hours. When I came back I cranked it with the accelerator to the floor and it started.

did either of you have a CEL? if so to diagnose the problem did you take it some place to get the codes checked?

I had no CEL.

What areas has your job search taken you? My employer has openings now and then but we are in a fairly rural part of New England.

as of right now i have just been looking local, and slowly working my way out to the more populated areas closer to home,(st louis, chicago, detroit, indy). does your employer have a web page i could submit a resume to, right now i think that i need to start looking farther away, and if you have openings what a better place to start.
