I think I have this right, but I'd like some reassurance.

A Duratec V6 has an oxygen sensor in each manifold before the pre-cat and one after the pre-cats but before the main cat. Is that all, or is there a fourth one?

I have a CEL so I went to Autozone. The guy told me it was the second sensor in bank 1 that was going out. Is that the sensor in the y-pipe? Is bank 1 the manifold between the engine and the firewall? BTW, this CEL came on 10 minutes after installing a new y-pipe.

Thanks for your help.

Four sensors - one before and one after EACH pre-cat.

Bank 1 is the firewall side.

Do not rely on the AZ drone's interpretation of the codes. Post the codes here to a second opinion before buying or replacing any parts.

Maybe a sensor did not get plugged in completely. Worth a check.

Also, O2 sensors are notoriously fragile when not in their native environment in the exhaust stream. If you banged it about just a bit, it may have been damaged.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

yes, bank 1 sensor 2 IS the sensor in the y pipe. There are 2 before the precats in the manifolds, then 2 lowers( 1 in the y pipe and the other very visible after the precats in the front exhaust manifold).

I wonder if this is the case here. I had it installed at a shop so I do not know if the service guy dropped it or something. I will check to see that it is plugged in tightly and if it is then I guess I will try replacing it.

Thanks to all for the comments and help.

BTW, JonnySVT did you get things straightened out with Brullen about your y-pipe?
