Well, about dynamat not being worth the time or the money, that is totally subjective and depends on the person. If you want your trunk to not rattle then dynamat is worth it, regardless of price. And, in my experience, it really doesn't take that long to mat a car. As long as the dynamat is placed in the right spots and applied correctly it WILL stop the trunk from rattling. Good Luck

allong with dynamat, you can lower the latch that the trunk lid is held closed by. It can be moved down using a star ratchet you can buy at almost any auto parts store. You have to remove the plastic that covers it up. I think it's something like two or four phillips screws. Not a very hard mod. But be careful you don't lower it too much, it could scratch the car when the trunk closes. Good Luck.

The rattling under the car may be caused by the two vents on either side of the inside of the trunk. First, remove the trunk floor piece (the carpeted thing) then pull up on the left or right sides of the other carpeted things. There's a vent on both sides. I don't know what they're for so I taped them up with duct tape. This also increases spl by sealing the trunk more.

Those vents are their to let air escape when you close your trunk to close. If you seal them up you just need to use more force to close the decklid.
