I have been emailing back and forth with Mic who is Mr. Rota Wheels USA. If we can get together a list of 10 people, he will special order a batch of Tarmac IIs in 4x108, +45mm. Here is a pic of the Tarmac IIs (they are a replica of the Prodrive GC-010 wheels, and they will clear nearly every big brake kit known to man (Stoptech, Brembo, Baer, et al). They are 17"x7.5" and weigh in the neighborhood of 19-20lbs. Price is likely to be ~$650 shipped for a set of four. Anyone else interested?
I have a local vendor here in MI that sells Rotas (only for Subaru fitments, though). If anyone has a preferred Rota vendor they would rather use, that's fine by me.

psssst...put this in the group buy section
$650 sounds good if tires were included but I could only see myself paying $650 for a set of lightweight wheels personally

Well, these aren't wheels I'm offering, it's just the Rota style that I like the most. We can get any style that Rota offers, they just have to be in batches of 10 or more. The only Rota styles I have seen in 4x108 are the SubZeros, SDRs and Slipstreams. It's just a thought. As for the price, ~$150/wheel for a good quality, relatively light wheel is too much? I'm just assuming the price will be that since the SDRs and Tarmac IIs for Subarus are that price. I could be wrong.

Considering that most other cast wheels around the same weight go for $100-$125 per wheel, yes, that's a little high IMHO. (Enkei, FSVT, Rage, Koenigg, ADR, etc)
Now if you were talking about forged such as Kosei, Oz, BBS, Centerline etc. that would be an absolutely great deal...

Kosei, OZ and most BBS are cast, too. The new BBS RG-R are about the only ones that I can think of that are forged off the top of my head. Enkei wheels are hit and miss, IMO. The wheels from Enkei Japan are nice (RPM 2s, RC5s RPF-1, etc), the Enkei USA wheels (like you find at Discount Tire) are junk. I didn't see any Enkei wheels at Discount Tire Direct for less than $140/wheel, either. I wouldn't touch Konig or Rage wheels if you paid me. Just my opinion, again. I've had 3 different sets of Rotas on my Subaru, and haven't had one problem. Buy 'em or not, makes no difference to me. I've got SDRs on my Subaru right now and I'll happily put a set of SDRs on the SVT, too. I'd just rather have a set of Tarmac IIs. As always YMMV.

Not true . The Kosei (K-1) & Oz (Superleggera) wheels that are available for our cars are both forged, as are many BBS wheels. But thats not really the point and I wasn't trying to affect your GB by saying that you should get forged wheels for that price, because besides the deal on the Kosei's that Tirerack once had, it not reasonable.
All I was trying to say is that the majority of the wheels that weigh the same and are of similar construction in our bolt pattern tend to be $25 to $50 cheaper per wheel than the ones you are suggesting.
Personally, I like them and think they would look good on our cars. I just think you should try to push for a better price if you expect to have a decent number of cegers join the GB considering our options. Good luck either way.

Sorry, Path, but the K-1s and the OZ Superlegs are both cast wheels, but that's beside the point.
I'll talk to Mic and get a firm handle on the price, if the majority of people would prefer a different style like the Actions, Battles or Formels, just let me know. As I said, the Tarmac IIs were MY choice, not any special deal through Rota or any vendor. This isn't really a group buy, Rota wheels USA just needs a minimum of 10 sets to run a batch of 4x108 bolt pattern, that's all.
I'll update this thread after I talk to Mic. Thanks, everyone.
