(1) To me that is a little ignorant, maybe he doesnt know that if he eats a bullit he will die. Then I realized after reading his sig that this guy has a corvette. Now of course he is going to think that all of these trends are silly. (2)Hes not in high school like me. (3)He doesnt drive around 4 thousand dollar Hondas. I mean if your a car guy in high school you take what you can get. I mean im sure some things are silly or outrageous. But if you enjoy cars and you only have a part time job in high school, (4) and you wanna modify your cars then you are gonna start with the sound and the aesthetic mods because it is much more affordable then say adding a turbo or a supercharger. If you take pride in your car you are gonna do what you can to make it look its best. What you hold dear to autostyling is nice and all but (5) if you express an opinion you cant get mad when someone calls you ignorant for not knowing or understanding the full situation that "us" the younger generation is in.
I'll try to throw in 2 more cents to this discussion while not trying to sound like I'm on a high horse of some kind.
1) If you are going to take me literally, then I'll answer you literally. No, one will not likely die from eating a bullet. A bullet is usually lead (which can result in poisoning (which could in extreme cases lead to death) or copper, which will not really harm you.
2) I graduated high school in '95 when I was 18.
3) My cars, from when I was 16, in the order I got them: Mazda GLC Delux, Chevy Corvette, Ford Fairmont, Chevy Cavalier, Ford Contour SE.
I bought my Corvette 2 months before I turned 18. It was all my own money, that I saved up for 2 years while working part-time jobs in high school. I knew what I wanted and I made many sacrifices to be able to get it. I think I went to one party while in HS, I gave up all my sports senior year. I worked two part time jobs to save my money. That's how I afforded a Corvette. Most HS students don't have that forward thinking or discipline to do what I did, no big thing. Everything about my daily drivers were crappy. But I kept my eyes on the prize and eventually won. I also said that instead of renting a limo for prom, I would drive a corvette, and it would be my own, not rented. Had I bothered with prom, I could have fulfilled this. Again, keeping my eyes on the prize.
4) To each their own on what they want to do first. I grew up in a racing family. It's always been about the "go" before the "show" or function before fashion. I've always preferred "go fast" than "look fast".
5) Since this is my first reply, I've obviously not said anythig about being upset or offended. And that's because I'm not. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I'm all for that. You take the positives and the negatives of free forums like this and hopefully can extract maybe 5% useful info. I expect to get flamed, and I expect people that agree. Both have shown thus far. As for Antonio's initial comments, although a bit overreating I feel, he is entitled to his opinion as well. I have no problem with the way he feels. Although (and this is a friendly, meaning to be taken lightly)) a poke at Antonio, I could only assume that he has/had more than just one of the 'mods' that I listed. I chuckled.

And I always try to be PC by stating that everyone can do their own thing. If I missed it in any posts, my sincerest apologies, Antonio.
Now, back to the topic... good points about the ralley car styling becoming popular. I think once the WRX makes it's full debut over here, it will click in. Next will be the Puegots and Alfa Romeos getting stateside. Let's not forget Citroen.
Fog lights, supersized front ends that ride 1.5" off the ground. Yep, I could see those coming. Nothing like putting on a new front end that skims the ground, and then simply trying to get up your friend's driveway curb and cracking/scratching it! To alleviate that, the new popular color will be primer gray or putty dk. orange. Say goodbye to high gloss, matte finish is the way to be pimpin'!
Surprisingly, I haven't seen more of the lights people put on valve stems. I actually thought they were kinda neat at first, but then so did the first pair of wiper-nozzle lights I saw. The next 5,000 just didn't seem as cool though.
NorMich99SE, I believe that 'crazy wing' on the Superbird actually served it's purpose though and wasn't just aesthetic. It IS goofy looking, but it worked as engineered. The car was travelling 200+mph on the track. The car was purpose built by Dodge to be a "factory showroom" car just so it could enter it into NASCAR. I'm no Dodge guy, but I'm pretty sure that's an accurate assessment.
I've also mentioned before that the wing on the Countach was a $3500 "OPTION" that actually SLOWED the car down at top speed. Another case of "look fast" instead of "go fast".
I think it's kinda hard to predict because ya kinda think, "Now who the heck would do that to their car. Yech!" It's like trying to think wrong on purpose.
What about some kind of external fins mounted to the outside of your rims that act like an induction fan on your braking system for better cooling? Or how about cold air-intakes mounted on the roof of the car? Absurd? Maybe. But someone also came up with the idea of tunneling on 10" rims (suspsenion linkage be damned!)
