Hey first of all sorry if this has allready been answered but I went through Hell and half of Georgia to find my anwsers. Ok here's my situation. I have a 2k GS with 78k miles on it. I was in an accident and had the front assembly replaced. After I got the car back, when I shifted from reverse to nuetral to go to drive it was hard to shift and it makes a loud clack noise. ( Needs tranny service) This happens right after I start the car and then as I drive it's fine. Also when I brake (it's weak but I'm checking the faq's for help with that) it feels like the engine is shaking a little. I noticed today that the mount near the coolant reservoir appears to have come off the rubber. It looks broken. The tie rod doesn't look straight either. On top of that, I have idle problems and load issues. I have two amps but I bought a new a dry cell battery and new terms and rewired the amps with 4 gauge distrubution block. This was good until some while after the accident. Now the idle is dropping again and things are still losing power and the terms are corroding slightly even with plastic tops on them. Is it a short or am I killing the alternator? Sorry this is long but my car hasn't been itself for at least six months and I need some advice please.

Thanks Dift

Well for one it sounds like all of your mounts are shot. Which would explain the hard shift when going into gear. Two I think you ought to getum.. a bass cap.... I think thats what its called for your audio setup. To keep from being so hard on your alt.

btw a junkyard can be your best friend if you know a little bit of mech work.

Thanks I'll look into that. Is it expensive to have the mounts replaced?

I checked the mounts out today with a mechanic friend of mine and only one of them is messed up so i'll get that replaced soon.

As far as the cap goes, I know you're right about that I've just been trying to avoid buying one but it'll be easier and cheaper then buying and installing a new altinator.
