I said it before, and I will say it again...Our cars are freakin' awesome! From a roll tis true our cars can hang with some pretty high rollers and give some even bigger high rollers a big lump in the throat. I gave one of those new infinity coups (I think Q35, the sporty lookin one) a big scare, on the track of course . My favorite gears from a roll are 3rd and 4th, because they give plenty of power on tap. On the track near Budds Creek, that infinity didn't know what I was, but he felt like a cheap..... But seriously, if someone tries to confront while at speed and in some twisties, they will have a hard time with us. I remember when I didn't have an intake and exhuast, and the difference while at speed is very very noticable. From a stop though . My time with just two mods, 15.2 @ 89mph. With more practice I believe I can do better. Anything after the quarter, fun fun.

I honestly don't know what my car is capable of. Our track sucks to put it nicely. I've seen WRXs out here running 14.8-14.9. The fastest CSVT I've seen run here was heavily modded and ran 15.2-15.4. Ouch. -R-

It doesn't help that the last quarter of the track is uphill. Makes for dismal trap speeds. My 86mph is proof.

Not sure, but I think some magazines have a correction factor that they multiply the tested time and trap speed by. By doing this they arrive at a standardized time and speed, which is what they publish. This is to account for elevation (barometric pressure), temperature, and humidity. Similar to what they do sometimes when they dyno test a car.
(Thought I read this awhile ago, if I'm way off base, somebody let me know.)
Very few owners run their cars under these ideal conditions...and of course, the magazine drivers do this kind of thing for a living, they've got some practice.

Motortrend does for sure. They had 13.04 @ 110.0, but with "correction" for heat, barometric pressure and humidity they calculated they were running 12.66 @ 113.2
Maybe that's my way into the 13's at my elevation

I ran 16.6 stock in my Zetec. Something modded Zetecs are hard to do . But I totally agree with this idea. I remember seening KungFuJoe here get uber low HP and Tq Dyno numbers and some nonSVT's beating that.

My car was definitely one of the poorer number producers. That has since been fixed. The standard duratec that could give me a run is mildly modded. Since the Diablochip, we have only run once. To put it nicely, I pull very hard. There's no denying his car is quick though. He beats alot of people out here.
