give ma a link to some sort of instructions on changing out the Transmission on my 'tour.

Specs:

1995 Ford Contour
1999 2.5L Duratec

I am about to buy the transmission and clutch, and I *know* how much of a PITA it is to change it, so please no useless posts about that. I just need links on instructions to change it out. If none available, then I will go 'buy the book' so to speak. Thanx.

I also recommend a manual.

In the most basic terms, you support the engine from above then you remove the subframe from below to gain access to the transmission.

the "easiest" way would be to drop the subframe, that is, if you have access to a lift

if you dont will have to pull it from the top

I just went and replaced the bettery tonight. Put it in, cranked it up, and it cranked up no problem. Turned it off, after about two minutes, went to crack it immediately afterward, and it's dead..... That's another 300$ to add to the 1300$ transmission change. 1600$ might as well be a million for me. I'm 17... I have a part time job, and basically no family. I can't afford that. In the 'as-is' state it's in, the best offer I have gotten for the damn thing is 400$.. I'm about to just sell it. It's a very depressing night, and I can't stand the thought of getting rid of it. My paychecks would take years to get the amount needed. I hate having it sitting there, and for someone my age, having no car is no BUENO. I can't believe what a [censored] night this has been. Thank you all for your help, and be grateful, that you own a car, that if it needs maintenance, you can somewhat afford it.

Good night everyone.

-Jai
