Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums Modifications 3.0L Duratec 3.0L Idler Pulley

I just had Ford replace my Idler pulley (under warranty ) and I had to do the actual work due to the car being down when the part arrived... Anyway, the question is: It the pulley different? The part I got was a nice aluminum part and was bigger than the one on there. Just by a little, but still bigger. The old pully had completely siezed up and I am surprised that it even ran. The belt had to have been just skidding on the wheel... Anyway, did Ford replace an inferior part? Did I get the right part?

the same thing happened when i ordered a bolt for the oil cooler it came and was shorter on the side that the oil filter goes onto but it worked good. I called bill and he told me that ford musta have upgraded the part and changed it slightly but its function was still the same. good luck if not i have an idler pulley if you want it.
