Looking for a cheap replacement speaker for the stock ones

Found these on Ebay was wondering everyones opinions. I would get the CDT's everyone is recommending but don't have that kind of money yet to invest.

Pioneer

And this amp to push all four? Amp

or if someone had the time to look through the rest of the stuff this person has and has any other recommendation. Here is the link to her store.

Also, i have decided to get rid of the Fosgate 8340 HU i just got in favor of something a little bit different. Any recommendations? Also it is for sale if anyone is interested $150.00 plus shipping.

Thanks,
Joe

That's a nice amp. I think I just might have to purchase one for my Ranger to replace an aging MTX amp which is a tad underpowered for my application.

As for anything beyond 2-way coaxials is a gimmick. You're probably better off finding some 2-way coaxials with an external crossover. Off the top of my head, Crystal and Infinity both make some good 6x8's with external crossovers.

BTW, forget about replacing the rear speakers. You won't notice a difference.

Those are not Pioneer speakers. I remember those were next to the Xplore speakers at an audio sale I went to a while back. The amp seems to be a good deal, most places online sell it for $189.00

If you want cheap, you can get a pair of Lightning Audio 2-way 6x8 speakers from Wal-Mart for $40. I have these in my Mustang, they surely sound better than the stock speakers...

this topic has been beat to death... but I'm still curious too. What's the best components around $60 for the front?

I saw some Metra 6x8 speakers at Pep Boys for $13/piece that probably sound exactly like the stock speakers, complete with the whizzer cone for improved high-frequency response.

Well if not these speakers? Then which should I purchase for a resonable price like under $60-75 bucks for a pair.

I will get the amp also.

Any recommendations with links would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

My top choice for a value-consious drop in 5x7/6x8 would be these Crystal CXE-570 for $46/pair.

Or, you could step up the the Crystal CSX-570 for $80/pair. You'd get the sound of components with the ease of coaxials due to the floating, angle-mounted tweet and the external 12db/octave crossovers.

yeah those crystals look nice. cdt's 6.5 classic coaxials are about 45 a pair. find an amp that could give these 45 watts rms and they would sound puurrrrrdy good

yeah i would forget the idea of rear speakers. spend that money on better frontsage, and a good 2 channel amp to push em.
